Domestic septic tanks

Domestic septic tanks get a lot of regular use and should ideally be cleaned out every four years. If this isn’t done, blockages in plumbing can occur, along with unpleasant odours, all of which will cost a lot to repair or replace.

If you don’t remember the last time your septic tank was cleaned, then it’s probably time to get it done. Just get in touch with our friendly team at Septic King and we’ll help you out in no time. Be sure to ask us about treatment systems!

Commercial clients

As well as cleaning out domestic septic tanks, we also provide the same great service to a range of commercial clients throughout the Adelaide Hills. From grease traps and holding tanks, to chemical toilets and more, we have the skills and the manpower to deal with all sorts of liquid waste issues.

It’s extremely important to keep on top of regular maintenance and cleaning in these areas, or else unpleasant and expensive problems can occur. Regular, scheduled cleaning will prevent costly repairs or replacements in the future, so give us a call and we’ll see what we can do for you.

Industrial clients

No job is too big or small for our professional team at Septic King, so if you operate an industrial enterprise and need help with liquid waste removal and treatment, we’re the company to call. We can help you reduce your impact on the environment by treating and reusing your liquid waste.

We know the importance of working safely on an industrial site and we maintain professional standards at all times.

FAQs

How does a septic tank work?
Septic tanks work with the help of non-oxygenated anaerobic bacteria to break down the edible matter, which means they require very little maintenance. Some waste floats and forms a crust (scum) - indicating a healthy system – while some sinks as sludge. The cleaner water flows from between these layers to the drain-field. As the scum and sludge layers build up over time, the clear water (retention zone) is reduced, and eventually the sludge is flushed into the drain-field. This is why we suggest periodic cleaning.
Where is the waste taken?
We use new sealed vacuum tankers to collect the septic tank waste and transport it to the nearest approved treatment facility for safe disposal. This process is monitored strictly by the Health Department and The Environmental Protection Authority (EPA). Septic King is an approved EPA waste transporter and has to comply with set standards and regulations.
When is the tank full?

When is the tank full?

You’ll know when you septic tank has reached its operating capacity when it’s full of sludge and scum, or you smell an unbearable stench. This is caused by all the good bacteria dying, so a fresh start is required. Alternatively, if the toilet is slow to flush away, or won't flush away at all, then your septic tank needs cleaned out.
